Job summary

Carvana is seeking a Diesel Technician to join our Fleet Maintenance team in New Jersey. You will work on Class 8 trucks and trailers, performing preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to maximize uptime.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in heavy-duty diesel work, experience with aftertreatment systems, and strong diagnostic skills. Training includes DTNA ARC Certification; sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits are included.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience with Heavy-Duty Class 8 trucks and trailers or similar equipment (e.g., agricultural, construction, waste collection truck).
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for diesel engines, transmissions, and vehicle systems.
Experience with aftertreatment systems and electrical diagnostics.
MIG welding is a plus.
Two ASE Certifications within the first 6 months (reimbursed).

Responsibilities

Routine Maintenance & Repair: Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and component replacements on our fleet.
Diagnostics: Use diagnostic tools/software to troubleshoot complex issues in diesel engines, transmissions, and vehicle systems.
System Repairs: Address issues with aftertreatment systems, perform regenerations, and change filters.
Collaborate & Optimize: Maintain records, optimize vehicle performance, and minimize downtime.
Safety First: Follow safety protocols and DOT compliance requirements.
