Job summary

Carvana in New Jersey seeks a Diesel Technician to join our Fleet Maintenance team. You’ll service Class 8 trucks and trailers to keep our uptime strong, performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs with an emphasis on safety.

Requirements include 3+ years of heavy-duty diesel experience, ASE certifications, and diagnostic tool proficiency. We offer competitive pay, benefits, 401k matching, PTO, tool/boot allowances, tuition and certification support, and a sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with Heavy-Duty Class 8 trucks and trailers or similar equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for diesel engines, transmissions, and vehicle systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic software and using a laptop for manuals.
• Experience with aftertreatment systems and electrical diagnostics.
• Comfortable with MIG welding is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Routine Maintenance & Repair: perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and component replacements on our fleet.
• Diagnostics: utilize diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot complex electrical, engine, and transmission problems.
• System Repairs: address issues with aftertreatment systems and perform regenerations and filter changes.
• Collaborate & Optimize: maintain accurate records, optimize vehicle performance, and minimize downtime.
• Safety First: adhere to safety protocols and industry best practices to ensure DOT compliance.
