Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems, brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension, and steering. Under supervision, you’ll work on a single fleet with state-of-the-art vehicles and support drivers in routes.

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and demonstrate technical expertise.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Experience with maintenance on Class 1-5 trucks; knowledge of heavy-duty Class 7-8 helpful.
• ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.
• 3-5 years of technician experience or recent automotive college graduate within 3 months.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge and performs preventative and repair maintenance on vehicle components and systems.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance; refuse bodies, brakes, engines, suspension, and HVAC.
• Light welding and fabrication as needed.
• Provides safe road service to ensure equipment is returned to operation.
• Completes company training programs and other duties as assigned.
