Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks. Under supervision, you’ll work on chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic/electrical systems, brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension, and more, both on-site and on the road.

You’ll perform diagnostic work using electronic tools, receive training on new technologies, and contribute to safe, efficient operations while enjoying a supportive team and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues with technical expertise.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Experience with maintenance on Classes 1-5 trucks, aircraft, or ships or equivalent.
• ASE Certifications (T1-T8) a plus but not required.
• CDL a plus but not required.
• 3-5 years in technician role or graduating from automotive college within 3 months.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair multi-system vehicle components and perform preventative maintenance.
• Repair chassis components and refuse bodies including hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Perform light engine repair, suspension, drivetrain, and steering maintenance; service HVAC.
• Perform welding and fabrication; provide road service when needed.
• Identify malfunctions with electronic tools and complete required trainings.
• Adhere to company policies and perform other duties as assigned.
