Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Topeka, KS is seeking a Diesel Technician to inspect, diagnose and repair diesel refuse trucks. You will troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical systems, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure fleet readiness for daily operations.

Starting pay is $30-$35 per hour with additional pay for ASE certs and experience. Benefits begin after 60 days, including health, PTO and retirement plan participation. Shift is 11am–7:30pm, Monday–Friday with overtime after 40 hours.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing diesel refuse trucks.
• Ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic/electrical systems.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs on Diesel Refuse Trucks.
• Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems, and other truck components.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep Refuse Trucks operating safely and reliably.
• Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet vehicles are ready for daily operation.

More pay available based on EXP, CERTS and SKILL LEVEL.

Shift: 11am-730pm M-F. OT after 40hrs worked. Will be trained on first shift the first 90 days.
