Who We Are: DHT Group, based out of Reese, Michigan, has been ensuring safety and satisfaction for over 40 years. We operate facilities in Newport, Port Huron, and Bellefontaine, Ohio, with divisions including Tanker, Gravel Train, Flatbed, Van, Excavating, and Landscape Supply, along with full-service repair facilities.

We are actively seeking candidates for mechanic positions at our Newport, MI facility. Full-time, day shift. Applicants must have 6 months to 1 year of experience in diesel motor repair.

The Diesel Mechanic will work on heavy trucks and trailers, troubleshooting and repairing electronic, fuel, ignition, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. The role involves working independently and occasionally in a team. Our Diesel Mechanics can learn through our in-house technician paid training program.

In This Diesel Tech Role, You Will:

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues, testing and adjusting as needed.
• Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and facilities.
• Identify mechanical problems visually and with diagnostic equipment.
• Perform diagnostics on components and systems to ensure proper operation.

Requirements:

Preferred: Mechanic certifications.

Physical Requirements:

• Lift at least 35 pounds.
• Bend, stretch, kneel, and squat for repairs.
• Good vision to inspect work.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery.
• Pass a drug and alcohol screening.
