Job summary

Performance Foodservice in Massachusetts is seeking a skilled diesel vehicle technician to diagnose and repair medium to heavy-duty trucks and trailers. You will perform preventive maintenance, electrical diagnostics, and onboard computer repairs, with road-call duties as needed.

The role requires extensive hands-on work, documentation in the EAM system, and training of peers in a fast-paced fleet environment.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
5-7 years of proven medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair including PMs, tire & wheel, air & air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in A/C refrigeration.

Responsibilities

Complete and perform preventative maintenance on fleet diesel equipment and standard component inspections/repairs, identifying root causes and performing repairs as required.
Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other critical parts to ensure proper operation.
Ensure equipment has required licensing and registration prior to roadworthiness.
Document work orders for repairs and preventive maintenance in the Enterprise Asset Management system.
Install, replace, and repair onboard computers.
Use hand tools and power tools for routine maintenance and repairs.
Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication.
Train other employees.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
