Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a skilled diesel fleet technician in Palmer, MA to diagnose, repair and maintain medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers and reefer units. The role requires adherence to state and federal trucking regulations and strong documentation of all work orders. Road call service may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5–7 years of proven medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair experience including PMs and electrical troubleshooting.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in A/C refrigeration.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on fleet diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, reefers).
• Inspect brake systems, steering, wheel bearings and related components.
• Ensure roadworthiness through licensing and registrations before operation.
• Document repairs and maintenance in the Enterprise Asset Management system.
• Install and repair onboard computers.
• Use hand and power tools to complete tasks including wrenches, screwdrivers, welding equipment.
• Train other employees.
• Perform road call service as needed.
