Silvi Materials seeks a Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our diesel fleet and equipment on the 3rd shift in Millstone, NJ. The role offers substantial benefits and a signing bonus and requires 3+ years of fleet maintenance experience.

The position involves diagnosing, repairing engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and related components, with opportunities for skills growth and overtime as needed. Silvi Materials values teamwork and safety in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of fleet/transportation repair experience with medium to large companies.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Knowledge of OSHA/DOT safety regulations as they apply to operation.
• Ability to read and understand maintenance and wiring diagrams and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and professional working environment.
• Diagnose and perform preventative maintenance on heavy-duty diesel vehicles and equipment.
• Repair or replace assemblies and sub-assemblies on trucks and equipment, including engines, transmissions, axles.
• Perform electrical work including wiring and starter rebuilding.
• Repair and adjust electrical sensors, EGR valves, and computerized systems per standards.
• Diagnose fuel management and ignition systems; change tires as needed.
• Weld broken assemblies as required.
• Organize and safeguard materials and tools; maintain a clean work area.
• Prepare reports on time spent, materials used, and work completed.
• Learn to operate diagnostic equipment and respond to road service calls.
