Silvi Materials in Logan, NJ is seeking a Diesel Mechanic for the 2nd shift (4:00 pm start) with shift differential. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing heavy‑duty diesel vehicles and equipment, electrical work, and preventive maintenance.

Qualified candidates have 3+ years of fleet repair experience, CDL Class A preferred, and knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic systems. Excellent problem‑solving and safety compliance are essential.

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years experience in fleet/transportation repair and maintenance for medium to large companies.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and understand maintenance and wiring diagrams, schematics and manuals.
• Experience with heavy-duty vehicle repair and maintenance.
• Knowledge of OSHA/DOT safety regulations applicable to operation.
• Ability to perform maintenance and repairs in a garage or field per manuals and diagrams.
• Sense of urgency and ownership.
• Excellent follow-up and problem-solving skills.
• CDL Class A license preferred.
• PA Inspection License A+ preferred.
• Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician Certification.
• DOT brake adjustment/repair certification.

Aufgaben

• Maintain a safe and professional working environment.
• Diagnose and perform preventative maintenance for heavy‑duty diesel vehicles and equipment.
• Remove, repair, rebuild and/or replace assemblies and sub‑assemblies on trucks and equipment.
• Perform electrical work including wiring systems and starter rebuilding.
• Repair/adjust electrical sensors, EGR valves, and computerized electrical systems.
• Diagnose fuel management and ignition systems and change tires as needed.
• Weld broken assemblies and parts as required.
• Use, store and safeguard equipment, materials and supplies.
• Maintain shop and work area in a clean and organized manner.
• Prepare time/materials/parts reports.
• Learn to use diagnostic equipment.
• Respond to road service calls with company vehicle.
