Silvi Materials in Millstone, NJ is hiring a Diesel Mechanic for the 3rd shift. You will service a fleet of mixers, heavy equipment, and trailers, performing diagnostics and preventative maintenance on diesel engines and systems.

Qualifications

• 3 years fleet/transportation maintenance experience.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Read and understand maintenance and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with heavy-duty vehicles.
• Familiarity with OSHA/DOT safety regulations.
• CDL A preferred.
• PA inspection license A+ preferred.
• Air conditioning and refrigeration technician certification.
• DOT brake certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and professional working environment.
• Diagnose and perform preventative maintenance for heavy-duty diesel vehicles and equipment.
• Repair and replace engine components and sub-assemblies.
• Perform electrical work on wiring systems and starters.
• Repair electrical sensors and air systems per standards.
• Diagnose fuel, ignition, engine timing; change tires.
• Weld broken assemblies and sub-assemblies as required.
• Keep shop clean and organized.
• Prepare time, materials and work records.
• Learn to use various diagnostic equipment.
• Respond to road service calls with company vehicle.
