Job summary

GFL is seeking a diesel truck mechanic in Chesapeake, VA to safely operate, repair, rebuild, and maintain heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment. Starting pay is $28-$55/hr, with additional pay based on experience, certifications, and skill level.

Shift: 3pm-1am M-F, with a $2 shift differential and optional Saturday work; overtime after 40 hours. Benefits include PTO, tool allowance, boot reimbursement, health benefits after 60 days, and 401K after 6 months.

Qualifications

• Perform daily inspections and repairs on diesel trucks.
• Repair hydraulic and electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and PTO.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep trucks operating safely.
• Perform preventative maintenance to keep fleet ready.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs on Diesel Refuse Trucks.
• Repair hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems and other truck components.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep Refuse Trucks operating safely and reliably.
• Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet vehicles are ready for daily operation.

Safely operate, repair, rebuild and perform maintenance on Company owned or leased heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment including rolling stock to ensure its ability to operate safelyStarting Pay: $28-$55/hrMore pay available based on experience, certifications and skill level.

Shift: 3pm-1am M-F. $2 shift differential. Day shift Saturdays as needed. Overtime after 40hrs worked.

We pay for ASE testing! Once you get your certs is .50 bump per T Series ASE.$1 for State Inspectors License
