Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension and drive train. The role supports drivers and services advanced fleet systems, with training opportunities in new technologies and equipment.

Qualifications

Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and demonstrate technical expertise.
Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
Experience with maintenance on Classes 1-5 light/medium duty and heavy-duty trucks or similar equipment.
ASE Certifications (T1–T8) are a plus but not required.
Commercial Driver's License is a plus but not required.
3–5 years of technician experience or recent automotive college/technical school graduation within 3 months.
Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

Maintains knowledge and skills to repair vehicle components and systems on-site and on the road.
Chassis component repair and maintenance.
Refuse bodies with hydraulic and electrical systems; air/hydraulic brakes.
Light engine repair and maintenance.
Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
Heating and air conditioning.
Performs welding and fabrication as needed.
Provides road service to return equipment to operation safely.
Identifies malfunctions using electronic tools and completes training.
Performs other duties as assigned.
