Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair our diesel fleet, including tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment.

The role requires diagnosing, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring proper documentation to support safe operations. Starting pay is $31.63/hour with opportunities such as ASE certification bonuses, tool reimbursement, and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• One year experience performing vehicle maintenance or completion of the FedEx Freight, Inc Apprentice Program with satisfactory performance.
• One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess necessary tools to perform assigned tasks.
• Valid driver's license may be required depending on work assignment.
• Knowledge of testing equipment, gauges and tools used in vehicle troubleshooting and repairs.
• Basic computer skills including maintenance programs and diagnostic systems.
• Basic knowledge of gas and diesel engines.
• Able to lift components weighing ~110 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to operate vehicles with manual and automatic transmissions.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Conduct basic diagnostics to identify trouble sources and adjust equipment for safe operation.
• Collaborate with technicians on preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Document all maintenance accurately in reports (written and electronic).
• Perform safety inspections and document results.
• Carry out paint and body work on vehicles when required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
