Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair our diesel tractor and trailer fleet, plus related equipment including forklifts. The role involves preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and documentation to ensure safe operation.

The position pays starting at $37.07 per hour, with potential increases to $38.19 per hour. ASE certifications and CDL are preferred. Opportunities include tool reimbursement, shift differential, and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or preferred.
• 1 year of vehicle maintenance experience or completion of FedEx Freight Apprentice Program.
• ASE certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Ability to perform required tool use and bring necessary tools.
• Valid driver's license may be required depending on assignment.
• Knowledge of testing equipment and diagnostic systems.
• Basic computer skills for maintenance programs and records.
• Familiarity with gas/diesel engines and lifting devices.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment.
• Perform basic diagnostics and adjust equipment for safe operation.
• Collaborate with fellow technicians for maintenance and repairs.
• Document all maintenance work in writing and electronically.
• Conduct safety inspections and assist with paint/body work as needed.
• Follow all laws, regulations, and company policies; perform other duties as required.
