Job summary

Sysco is seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a wide range of fleet vehicles and equipment at our Maryland location. You will diagnose malfunctions, service engines, transmissions, brakes, HVAC, electrical systems, and more according to manufacturer specifications.

The role requires strong hands-on skills, tool ownership, and familiarity with diagnostic software.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of computer-based diagnostic software for OEM's and component manufacturers.
• Must provide own tools; major tools provided by Sysco.
• Expert knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
• Moderate knowledge of electrical system diagnosis and repair.
• Basic welding and cutting abilities.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment within planned time tolerances to maximize safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Perform FAI/CVI inspections on fleet vehicles in accordance with regulations.
• Perform quality preventive maintenance inspections per company methods on all fleet vehicles and related equipment.
• Perform quality maintenance repairs to maximize safety and reliability on fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Address Driver Vehicle Inspection Report write ups timely and efficiently.
• Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform repairs to manufacturer specifications across engines, transmissions, drivetrains, brakes, HVAC, electrical and more.
• Document all work performed on work orders.
• Learn and develop efficiency in Sysco computer programs.
