Job summary

Sysco Corp. is seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic in Houston to provide safe, reliable preventive maintenance and expert repairs for our fleet.

You will diagnose issues, perform inspections, and repair a wide range of vehicle systems to reduce downtime and increase fleet reliability. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, adherence to DOT regulations, and the use of OEM diagnostic tools, with opportunities on 3rd shift and shift differential.

Qualifications

• Experience with fleet maintenance and repair environments.
• Ability to diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, HVAC, and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements (DOT/FMCSA).
• Proficient with electrical testing equipment and hand tools.
• Must provide own basic hand tools unless Sysco-provided).

Responsibilities

• Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment within planned time tolerances.
• Perform annual inspections (FAI/CVI) on fleet vehicles per regulations.
• Perform quality maintenance repairs to maximize safety and reliability.
• Diagnose malfunctions and repair per manufacturer specs (engines, transmissions, drive-line, etc).
• Document all work on work orders and learn Sysco computer programs.
