Job summary

Sysco seeks a skilled Fleet Maintenance Technician to ensure safe, reliable fleet operations. You will perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on tractors, trailers, and equipment to minimize downtime and drive efficiency.

The role requires heavy-duty truck tech training, a valid license, and experience with diagnostic tools. You’ll work a 3rd shift with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and quality workmanship across the Sysco fleet.

Qualifications

• Medium / Heavy Duty truck technical training
• High school diploma or GED required
• 2-year school and 1 year of experience or 3 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair
• Current and valid driver's license
• Experience with diagnostic software and tools

Responsibilities

• Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment within planned time tolerances.
• Perform Annual inspections (FAI/CVI) on tractors, trailers, dollies, lift gates and other company equipment per regulations.
• Perform quality preventive maintenance and repairs to maximize safety and reliability across all fleet vehicles.
• Address Driver Vehicle Inspection Report write-ups promptly and efficiently.
• Diagnose malfunctions and repair per manufacturer specs across engines, transmissions, braking, electrical and HVAC systems.
• Document all work performed on work orders and learn Sysco computer programs.
• Proficient in electrical meter testing; knowledge of DC low voltage controls and HVAC systems.
