Job summary

Sysco Iowa in Ankeny, IA is seeking a Diesel Fleet Mechanic Technician I to learn preventive maintenance and repairs on our fleet. You will work under experienced technicians to diagnose issues, perform inspections, and support reliability improvements for on-road equipment.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, basic hand tools, and a willingness to learn. Shift options include 3rd shift with a differential; OT may be available, and a yearly tool allowance is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training (preferred).
• Basic knowledge of vehicle systems and components; mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Learn to perform inspections and preventive maintenance under guidance.
• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical and HVAC systems.
• Document work on orders and maintain safety and quality.
• Support Fleet Technicians II/III to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
