Job summary

Sysco Foods in Ankeny, IA is seeking a full-time Fleet Technician to perform preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on our fleet to maximize safety and reliability. You will diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, electrical systems and more, following manufacturer specifications and using company tools.

This role operates on a 40-hour night shift with start times typically between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM CST, and offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus, a $500 annual tool allowance, uniforms, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-year school and 1 year of experience or 3 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair.
• Current and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment within planned time tolerances to maximize safety, reliability, and cost efficiency throughout the fleet’s life cycle.
• Perform Annual inspections (FAI/CVI) on all fleet vehicles in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Perform quality preventive maintenance inspections on all fleet vehicles.
• Perform quality maintenance repairs to maximize safety and reliability of fleet vehicles.
• Address Driver Vehicle Inspection Report write-ups timely and efficiently.
• Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform repairs to manufacturer specs including engines, transmissions, drive-line, electrical systems, brakes, HVAC, and lift-gate systems.
• Document all work performed on work orders.
