Job summary

Sysco Long Island, LLC is hiring a Diesel Fleet Mechanic Technician I for 3rd shift (6:00 PM - 2:00 AM, Sun-Thu) to support safe, reliable fleet maintenance. You will learn to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and diagnostics under experienced supervision, working primarily on tractors, trailers, and other company equipment.

The role offers training, an annual tool allowance of $400, and benefits including Medical, Dental and 401K. Prior experience is not required, and CDL is a plus.

Qualifications

• Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training 2-year school (preferred).
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No experience required; CDL preferred.
• Technicians must own and provide all tools necessary to perform duties.
• ASE certifications and additional Fuel/HVAC certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn to perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs to manufacturer specifications.
• Document work orders with clear cause and correction details.
• Address driver vehicle inspection reports promptly and accurately.
