Job summary

Sysco Foods in Ankeny, IA is hiring a full-time fleet maintenance mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on our vehicle fleet. This 40-hour night shift role requires diagnosing engines, transmissions, and electrical systems, with work orders documented and safety as a priority.

We offer a sign-on bonus up to $5,000, $26.00–$32.00 per hour, $3.00 night-shift differential for 3rd shift, a $500 annual tool allowance, uniforms, and boot allowance.

Qualifications

• Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-year school and 1 year of experience or 3 years of experience in fleet maintenance.
• Current and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance to maximize safety, reliability, and cost efficiency across the fleet.
• Perform FAI/CVI inspections on all fleet vehicles per regulations.
• Repair engines, transmissions, drive-line, brakes, electrical, and other systems per manufacturer specs.
• Document work orders and follow established procedures.
• Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform repairs to ensure vehicle uptime.
