Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of diesel tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure safe operation.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, one year of vehicle maintenance experience or related certificate, and ASE/ CDL credentials preferred. Tools and a valid license may be required. Work includes documentation and safety inspections.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• One year vehicle maintenance experience or related certificate.
• One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess the necessary tools to perform tasks.
• Valid driver's license may be required depending on work assignment.
• Knowledge of testing equipment, gauges and tools for vehicle troubleshooting and repairs.
• Basic computer skills including maintenance programs and diagnostic systems.
• Basic knowledge of gas and diesel engines.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Performs basic diagnostics to identify trouble sources and makes necessary adjustments.
• Works with other technicians in performing preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Documents maintenance and completes reports in writing and electronically.
• Performs safety inspections of equipment and documents the work.
• Performs paint and body work on vehicles when required.
• Complies with laws, regulations, and company policies/procedures.
• Performs other duties as required.
