Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair our diesel fleet, including tractors, trailers, and forklifts. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and safe operation. A strong background in heavy-duty vehicle maintenance and relevant ASE certifications is valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED) preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience performing vehicle maintenance.
• A Master ASE certification may substitute for additional experience.
• Heavy-duty vehicle maintenance certificate may substitute for experience.
• Proficiency in brakes, electrical, PMI, powertrain, and trailing equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and preventive maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment.
• Perform advanced diagnostics and rebuild components as needed.
• Make adjustments for safe operation and document work.
• Provide guidance to less-experienced technicians.
• Ensure proper documentation of maintenance and safety inspections.
• Possibly perform paint and body work.
• Operate vehicles safely and in compliance with policies.
