Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of diesel tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs, while documenting work and following safety procedures.

Responsibilities include equipment inspections, basic paint/body work, and collaboration with teammates. A High School Diploma or GED is preferred, with ASE certifications and CDL being advantageous.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year vehicle maintenance experience or FedEx Freight Apprentice Program completion.
• One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess necessary tools to perform tasks.
• Valid driver’s license may be required depending on work assignment.
• Knowledge of testing equipment, gauges and tools for troubleshooting and repairs.
• Basic computer skills and maintenance software familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Performs basic diagnostics to identify trouble sources and makes adjustments for safe operation.
• Works with other technicians in performing preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Ensures proper documentation of all maintenance and completes reports in writing and electronically.
• Performs safety inspections and documents the work.
• Paint and body work on vehicles as required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
