Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair diesel tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other fleet equipment. The role requires preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and proper documentation.

Starting pay is hourly with potential certifications and training opportunities; benefits include tuition reimbursement and other program perks. Strong safety awareness and ability to lift heavy components are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED) preferred.
• One year vehicle maintenance experience or certificate within 60 days.
• ASE certifications and CDL preferred.
• Must possess necessary tools to perform tasks.
• Valid driver’s license may be required.
• Knowledge of testing equipment and diagnostic systems.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to operate manual/automatic transmissions.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Perform basic diagnostics to identify trouble sources and adjust equipment.
• Work with other technicians on preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Document maintenance and complete reports written and electronic.
• Perform safety inspections and document results.
• Perform paint and body work as required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
