Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Mechanic/Technician in Memphis, TN to maintain and repair our diesel fleet, including tractors, trailers, forklifts and related equipment. Candidates should have heavy equipment experience or diesel mechanic education and may benefit from ASE certifications and CDL.

Starting pay is $31.63 per hour, with potential bonuses such as tool reimbursement and shift differentials. The role emphasizes safety, accurate documentation, and teamwork in a fast-paced maintenance

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year minimum vehicle maintenance experience or completion of related certificate/program.
• One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and CDL (preferred).
• Must possess necessary tools to perform tasks.
• Valid driver's license may be required depending on assignment.
• Knowledge of testing equipment, gauges and diagnostic tools.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with maintenance software.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment.
• Conduct basic diagnostics and adjust equipment for safe operation.
• Collaborate with teammates on preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Document all maintenance accurately in reports (written and electronic).
• Perform safety inspections and document findings.
• Carry out paint and body work as required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies/procedures.
