Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Mechanic / Technician to service our North Billerica, MA diesel fleet—tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure safe, reliable operation.

The role requires tools, ASE certifications, and CDL A where applicable. You will collaborate with a team, document all work, and adhere to safety and regulatory standards. Starting rate is $32.36/hour with potential for higher pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED) preferred.
• One year experience in vehicle maintenance or completion of apprenticeship.
• One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess necessary tools to perform tasks.
• Knowledge of testing equipment and diesel engines.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Performs basic diagnostics to identify source of trouble and makes adjustments for safe operation.
• Works with other technicians on maintenance and repairs.
• Documents maintenance reports in writing and electronically.
• Performs safety inspections and paint/body work as required.
• Complies with laws, regulations and company policies.
