Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of diesel tractors, trailers, forklifts and related equipment. Use heavy equipment experience or diesel mechanic education to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, modify and repair.

The role includes basic diagnostics, completing safety inspections, and documenting work. Starting pay is $32.36 per hour, with potential for increases and qualifications including ASE certifications and CDL Class A.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
• 1 year vehicle maintenance experience or relevant certificate/program completion.
• ASE certifications in Medium/Heavy Truck and Class A CDL preferred.
• Own tools to perform tasks.
• Valid driver's license may be required.
• Knowledge of testing equipment and diagnostic systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts and related equipment.
• Run basic diagnostics and adjust equipment for safe operation.
• Collaborate with other technicians on maintenance and repairs.
• Document work reports in writing and electronically.
• Conduct safety inspections and document findings.
• Perform paint and body work as required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
