Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain our fleet of diesel tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to keep operations running smoothly.

Starting rate of pay is $31.63 per hour. Additional $5.50/hour for ASE Master Certification; $1,000 annual tool reimbursement; tuition reimbursement for Diesel Mechanic ASE certifications; shift differential pay available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• One year experience maintaining vehicles or completion of FedEx Freight Apprentice Program.
• One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess necessary tools to perform tasks.
• Valid driver’s license may be required depending on work assignment.
• Knowledge of testing equipment, gauges, and diagnostic tools.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of engines.
• Able to lift components weighing up to 110 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Performs basic diagnostics and adjusts equipment for safe operation.
• Works with other technicians on maintenance and repairs.
• Documents maintenance in writing and electronically.
• Performs safety inspections and documents the work.
• Paint and body work on vehicles as required.
• Comply with laws and company policies.
