Job summary

Sysco Foods in Florida is seeking an Apprentice Fleet Technician to assist with safe, reliable vehicles by learning preventive maintenance inspections and basic repairs, reducing downtime and improving fleet reliability.

You will learn to perform inspections (FAI/CVI) on tractors, trailers, and other equipment under guidance of experienced technicians, following federal and local regulations. No experience required; CDL preferred; strong willingness to learn and bring basic tools.

Qualifications

• Two-year education in heavy/medium-duty truck tech preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CDL preferred; valid license encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Learn inspections and preventive maintenance under guidance to maximize fleet safety and reliability.
• Learn to perform FAI/CVI inspections on tractors, trailers, and related equipment under supervision.
• Learn to perform quality maintenance and repairs to maximize safety and reliability of fleet vehicles.
• Document all work on work orders per procedures under supervision.
• Develop efficiency with Sysco computer programs under guidance.
