Job summary

Sysco Houston is seeking a Fleet Technician to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-efficient vehicle maintenance. You will perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and expert diagnostics across tractors, trailers, and related equipment.

The role requires hands-on expertise with engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and refrigeration units, with opportunities to mentor junior technicians and support supervisory staff as needed.

Qualifications

• 2-year school with 4 years of experience in fleet maintenance or 5 years equivalent experience.
• HS diploma or GED required.
• CDL preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance to maximize safety and reliability.
• Conduct annual inspections (FAI/CVI) on fleet vehicles per regulations.
• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, electrical systems and HVAC.
• Repair refrigeration units (Reefer) and associated systems.
• Document all work on work orders and communicate findings.
• Mentor junior Fleet Technicians and assist supervisory staff when needed.
