Job summary

Sysco Foods in New York is seeking a skilled Fleet Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repair on our fleet, ensuring safety, reliability and cost efficiency for on‑road operations.

Candidates will inspect, diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, electrical systems, refrigeration units, and related components, while mentoring junior techs and complying with DOT, OSHA and environmental rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• CDL is preferred but not required.
• 2-year school plus 4 years of experience or 5 years fleet maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance to maximize safety and reliability.
• Conduct annual inspections (FAI/CVI) on tractors, trailers and related equipment.
• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, drive-lines and electrical systems.
• Repair refrigeration units (Reefer) and lift-gates as needed.
• Follow all work order procedures and document findings.
