Job summary

Sysco Foods is seeking a skilled fleet maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet, ensuring safety and reliability while reducing downtime. The role requires diagnosing complex systems and completing work orders efficiently.

This full-time position offers a 3rd shift, a sign-on bonus up to $7,000, and a competitive hourly wage based on experience. A medium/heavy-duty truck technical training and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training completed.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of formal training plus 1 year experience or 3 years in fleet maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles within planned time tolerances to maximize safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Perform annual inspections on tractors, trailers, converter dollies, light-duty vehicles, and other equipment per federal/state/local regulations.
• Perform quality preventive maintenance and repairs to maximize safety and reliability of all fleet vehicles.
• Address Driver Vehicle Inspection Report write ups in a timely and efficient manner.
• Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform repairs to manufacturer specifications (engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, HVAC, etc.).
• Document all work on work orders and learn Sysco computer programs.
• Proficient in electrical meter testing and knowledge of DC low voltage controls.
• Complete electrical repairs and welding as needed.
