Job summary

SRM Concrete (Smyrna Ready Mix) seeks a Fleet Mechanic to maintain a fleet of mixer trucks and other heavy equipment. You will perform routine maintenance, diagnose electrical and hydraulic issues, and repair major components.

On-the-job training is provided, and CDL is preferred if not already held. We value safety, reliability, and teamwork, offering competitive pay with overtime after 8 hours and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work variable shifts; on-the-job training provided.
• Entry-level candidates encouraged to apply; no prior experience essential.
• Experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy equipment technician is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines and equipment, including oil changes, lube, and filter changes.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on mixer trucks and other heavy equipment.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and plan repairs.
• Rebuild or replace major components such as engines, starters, and transmissions.
• Coordinate with operations to schedule maintenance and minimize downtime.
• Maintain safety compliance in shop and on job sites, and keep accurate repair records.
• Stay updated on diesel technology and repair techniques through ongoing learning.
