Job summary

SRM Concrete (Smyrna Ready Mix) is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to maintain a fleet of mixer trucks, loaders, dump trucks and tankers. You will perform routine maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and ensure safety in our shop and on-site operations.

Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply, with on-the-job training available. CDL may be preferred; a high school diploma is required and a technical certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics and electrical systems is preferred.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and repair techniques.
• On-the-job training available for entry-level candidates.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and heavy equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues in mixer trucks and other heavy equipment.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repairs.
• Rebuild or replace major components such as engine heads, blocks, starters, and transmissions.
• Coordinate with operations to schedule maintenance and minimize downtime.
• Ensure safety policies are followed in workshop and on job sites.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs in company systems.
• Stay updated on diesel technology through ongoing learning.
