Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain our diesel tractor fleet, trailers, forklifts, and associated equipment. Candidates should have heavy equipment experience or diesel mechanic education and be prepared for preventive maintenance and repairs.

The role includes basic diagnostics, documentation, safety inspections, and possible paint/body work. ASE certifications and Class A CDL are preferred, tools required, and a valid license may be needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED) preferred.
• One year vehicle maintenance experience or completion of FedEx Freight Apprentice Program.
• ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess tools to perform tasks.
• Valid driver's license may be required.
• Knowledge of testing equipment and diagnostic systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Perform basic diagnostics and tune-ups to keep equipment safe and efficient.
• Collaborate with other technicians on maintenance and repairs.
• Document all maintenance work in writing and electronically.
• Conduct safety inspections and report findings.
• Do paint and body work on vehicles as required.
• Follow all laws, regulations, and company policies.
