Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair our diesel fleet, including tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment. You will apply heavy equipment experience and diesel education to keep operations moving.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, diagnostics, documentation, safety inspections, and teamwork. A valid license and ASE certifications are preferred; benefits include shift pay differential and tool reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• One year experience in vehicle maintenance or completion of FedEx Freight Apprentice Program.
• One or more ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess necessary tools to perform tasks.
• Valid driver’s license may be required depending on assignment.
• Knowledge of testing equipment, gauges and vehicle diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Perform basic diagnostics to identify trouble and adjust equipment for safe operation.
• Collaborate with technicians to perform preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Document all maintenance in reports written and electronic.
• Conduct safety inspections and document findings.
• Perform paint and body work as required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.
