Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking a Vehicle Preventive Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance on our fleet of trucks and equipment, inspect and service vehicles, and assist senior technicians with repairs. You will follow safety policies, maintain maintenance records, and ensure parts are used efficiently.

This position requires physical activity, willingness to work nights and weekends as needed, and the ability to work outdoors in changing temperatures.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
• Ability to read repair manuals and electrical schematics.
• Good written and verbal communication with customers.
• Must possess necessary tools to perform tasks.
• Experience with diesel-powered vehicles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles safely and per schedules.
• Inspect, lubricate, service fleet vehicles; grease/oil components.
• Check fluids and filters; inspect electrical, air, and brake systems.
• Assist senior technicians with repairs and maintenance.
• Maintain records of time, maintenance orders, and parts usage.
• Ensure safety devices on vehicles are in working order.
• Flexible hours including nights and weekends as needed.
