Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Repair Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain our fleet to keep trucks safe and operable. You will perform routine maintenance, address DVIRs, and troubleshoot issues in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma (preferred), strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to document work accurately.

Qualifications

Must possess the necessary tools to perform assigned tasks.
Ability to safely drive service vehicles and operate in service areas.
Good mechanical aptitude for vehicle maintenance and repair.
Ability to complete required paperwork (hard copies or electronically).
Ability to understand and comply with safety requirements and standards.

Responsibilities

Perform repair and maintenance of fleet vehicles per maintenance schedules and DVIRs.
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues and perform repairs as needed.
Complete adjustments, repairs, and component replacements to vehicles and equipment.
Check, fill, or change fluids and filters as required.
Inspect and overhaul vehicle systems including electrical, air, and brake components.
Perform roadside repairs when qualified for the vehicle type.
Ensure safety devices on vehicles are in good working order.
Maintain shop and tools, and document parts usage and time on systems.
