Job summary

Rumpke is seeking a Vehicle Preventive Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair fleet vehicles in a safety-conscious environment in the Louisville area. The role emphasizes performing preventive maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs while ensuring accurate record-keeping and adherence to company policies.

Ideal candidates have mechanical aptitude, basic maintenance knowledge, and the ability to work with repair manuals and diagrams.

Qualifications

Mechanical aptitude and basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
Familiarity with repair manuals, wiring diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot vehicle failures.
Ability to safely drive vehicles in and out of service area.
Good written and verbal communication skills with internal and external customers.
Must possess necessary tools to perform assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance of fleet vehicles in a safe manner per regulations and policies.
Inspect, lubricate, and service all fleet vehicles per maintenance schedules.
Grease, oil, and lubricate components during service.
Check, fill, and change fluids and filters for fleet vehicles.
Inspect vehicle support systems such as electrical, air, and brake systems.
Perform minor repairs and adjustments to vehicle systems.
Assist senior technicians with repairs and maintenance tasks.
Maintain accurate records of time, maintenance orders, and parts usage.
