Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to service diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, and control systems. You’ll diagnose multi-system issues, perform preventive maintenance, and conduct light engine work on Class 1-8 trucks, both on-site and on the road.

The role emphasizes training in new technologies, consistent shifts, and the chance to contribute to a community-focused fleet that supports drivers and customers with reliable service.

Qualifications

• Diagnose multi-system issues and demonstrate technical expertise.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Experience with maintenance on Class 1-8 trucks or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge and proficiency in vehicle components and systems for preventative and repair maintenance.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic and electrical systems; and air and hydraulic braking systems.
• Light engine repair and maintenance.
• Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• Heating and air conditioning.
• Performs line maintenance welding and fabrication.
• Provides road service to ensure equipment is returned to operation safely and efficiently.
• Identifies malfunction sources using electronic tools.
• Completes training programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
