Job summary

Nextran Truck Centers in the Southeast United States is seeking a Diesel Engine Technician to diagnose, repair, rebuild, and maintain medium- and heavy-duty trucks in our Engine Shop. You’ll diagnose engine problems, mentor apprentices, and lead projects while pursuing ongoing career growth.

In this role you’ll work closely with Parts and Service teams to keep repairs on schedule, follow OEM procedures, and stay current on industry best practices.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of diesel diagnostic experience (10+ years preferred).
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus.
• Master Technician certifications preferred; ASE certifications a plus.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair medium- and heavy-duty diesel engines and related systems.
• Perform complete engine and transmission rebuilds.
• Complete preventative maintenance and major mechanical repairs.
• Document repairs and diagnostic findings accurately.
• Coordinate with Parts and Service teams to stay on schedule.
• Identify additional maintenance or safety concerns for customers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow OEM repair procedures and dealership standards.
• Stay current on OEM bulletins and industry best practices.
• Mentor apprentice technicians and help lead the team when needed.
