Job summary

Nextran Truck Centers is hiring a Diesel Technician for the Atlanta South (College Park), GA area. Join an established network of truck dealerships and contribute to diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining heavy-duty diesel engines within a collaborative Engine Shop.

You will mentor apprentices, lead projects when needed, and stay current with OEM bulletins and best practices while delivering quality workmanship. Experience with Cummins and strong diagnostic skills are valued.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of diesel diagnostic experience (10+ years preferred)
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license (CDL a plus)
• Cummins Engine Repair Certification (Required)
• Master Technician certifications in multiple areas preferred
• ASE Certifications are a plus
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Intermediate computer skills and ability to use dealership management and diagnostic software
• Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair medium- and heavy-duty diesel engines and related systems
• Perform complete engine and transmission rebuilds
• Complete preventative maintenance and major mechanical repairs
• Accurately document repairs and diagnostic findings
• Communicate with Parts and Service teams to ensure repairs stay on schedule
• Identify additional maintenance or safety concerns for customers
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow manufacturer repair procedures and dealership standards
• Stay current on OEM technical bulletins and industry best practices
• Mentor apprentice technicians and help lead the team when needed
