Job summary

Nextran Truck Centers is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician for our Atlanta South (College Park) location in GA. You will diagnose, repair, rebuild, and maintain medium- and heavy-duty trucks, while mentoring teammates and leading projects as needed.

You will work within our Engine Shop, documenting findings, following OEM procedures, and staying current with industry practices. Join a team that values craftsmanship, safety, and professional growth.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of diesel diagnostic experience (10+ years preferred).
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CDL is a plus.
• Cummins Engine Repair Certification required.
• Master Technician certifications in multiple areas preferred.
• ASE Certifications are a plus.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency with email, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel; ability to learn dealership management and diagnostic software.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair medium- and heavy-duty diesel engines and related systems.
• Perform complete engine and transmission rebuilds.
• Complete preventative maintenance and major mechanical repairs.
• Accurately document repairs and diagnostic findings.
• Communicate with Parts and Service teams to ensure repairs stay on schedule.
• Identify additional maintenance or safety concerns for customers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow manufacturer repair procedures and dealership standards.
• Stay current on OEM technical bulletins and industry best practices.
• Mentor apprentice technicians and help lead the team when needed.
