Job summary

GFL is seeking a Diesel/CNG Fleet Mechanic to diagnose, repair and maintain the company’s diesel and compressed natural gas vehicles. The role involves brake, engine and emission system inspections, electronic diagnostics, and performing DOT inspections to ensure road readiness.

Shift starts 2:00pm to 12:30am, Monday–Friday with every other Saturday and overtime after 40 hours. Benefits include PTO, boot reimbursement, and health plans after certain periods.

Qualifications

Knowledge of DOT/OSHA regulations.
Strong verbal and written communication across organization and with customers/vendors.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, repair and maintain GFL's Diesel and CNG fleet under supervision.
Perform inspections of brakes, engines, emissions, steering, wheels and related components.
Test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions.
Perform electronic diagnostics and repair of electrical and hydraulic systems.
Complete DOT and brake inspections on all vehicles.
Prepare reports and order parts as required.
Maintain a safe and organized work area.
