Job summary
GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a skilled B-Tech Mechanic for our Stockbridge, GA facility on a 2:00 PM – 2:00 AM night shift. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty diesel and CNG vehicles to keep the fleet road-ready.
Responsibilities include using diagnostic software, following safety protocols, documenting work orders, and mentoring junior technicians in a fast-paced shop environment.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in heavy-duty diesel or CNG vehicle maintenance.
- Proficiency with diagnostic software, electrical schematics, and hydraulic system repair.
Responsibilities
- Diagnostics & Repair: perform electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs on heavy-duty diesel engine and CNG systems under minimal supervision.
- Preventative Maintenance: complete scheduled PMs, DOT inspections, and brake system checks to guarantee road-ready fleet.
- System Troubleshooting: use advanced diagnostic software to read codes, isolate faults, and execute precision repairs.
- Safety & Compliance: enforce OSHA, DOT, and internal safety protocols.
- Administrative Documentation: maintain digital work orders, track parts, and update maintenance logs daily.
- Shop Upkeep & Mentorship: keep a clean shop and collaborate with senior tech leadership to refine repair skills.
