Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a diesel/CNG fleet mechanic to diagnose, repair and maintain our trucks. You will inspect brakes, engines and emissions, test drive to confirm repairs, and perform electrical/hydraulic repairs while ensuring DOT compliance.

The role requires strong communication, diagnostic software skills and a safety-first mindset. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in diesel/CNG maintenance; CDL Class A or B is preferred, and ASE certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and related regulations.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret safety and maintenance documents.
• Experience with diagnostic software and basic computer use.
• CDL Class A or B preferred; willingness to obtain within 6 months.
• ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and maintain diesel/CNG fleet under supervision.
• Inspect brakes, engines, emissions, steering and wheel bearings.
• Test drive trucks to verify repairs and diagnose malfunctions.
• Perform electrical/hydraulic system repairs and DOT inspections.
• Complete reports, work orders and part orders daily.
