Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is hiring a Diesel Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs on diesel and CNG vehicles. You’ll inspect brakes, engines and emissions and assist with testing and repairs to keep the fleet road-ready.

Under supervision, you’ll complete work orders, order parts, and support safety inspections while continuing training to grow essential skills in diagnostics and equipment systems.

Qualifications

• Entry-level knowledge/experience of at least 1+ years.
• Willingness to learn more complex diagnostic and repair processes.
• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and related regulations; able to read and interpret manuals.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inspection of brake systems, engine components, emission systems and steering mechanisms.
• Perform preventative maintenance including tire, oil and brake changes.
• Test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
• Complete work orders and order parts; maintain safe work area and comply with safety rules.
