Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Texas seeks a skilled diesel/CNG fleet technician to diagnose, repair and maintain our fleet under supervision. The role involves inspections, test drives, and electronic diagnostics to keep vehicles in safe, compliant condition.

You will perform DOT and brake inspections, complete work orders, and participate in training to grow skills. A Brake safety certificate and 609 A/C certification are required, with CDL preferred; ASE certs are a plus.

Qualifications

• Brake safety certificate and 609 A/C system certification required.
• Experience using diagnostic software preferred.
• CDL Class A or B preferred or willingness to obtain within six months.
• ASE certifications preferred.
• 3+ years of diesel/CNG maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and maintain GFL’s Diesel and CNG fleet.
• Inspect brake systems, engine components, emission systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other parts.
• Test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
• Perform electronic diagnostics and repair electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Perform DOT and brake inspections on all vehicles.
• Complete reports, work orders, order parts and perform other administrative duties.
• Complete work as scheduled by shop supervision or higher-grade technicians.
• Ensure safe working conditions and compliance with safety regulations.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Participate in training and development opportunities to increase skills.
